From visitor to exhibitor

In 2025, we visited PATS to learn more about the UK pet industry. One year later, we returned to the NEC Birmingham in a very different position: this time, with our own PawSano stand.

PATS 2026 marked another step in PawSano's development as a young UK pet care brand.

Since bringing PawSano to market, much of our focus has been on introducing our plant-based cat litter directly to cat owners and listening carefully to how the product performs in everyday homes. PATS gave us the opportunity to take those conversations into a different environment and speak with retailers, breeders and pet industry professionals.

The questions were different too.

Alongside the product itself, conversations naturally moved towards pack sizes, pricing, breeder requirements, retail, distribution and what businesses look for when considering a new cat litter brand.

For us, those practical conversations were one of the most valuable parts of the show.

Another highlight was seeing PawSano Plant-Based Tofu Cat Litter featured in the PATS 2026 New Product Showcase.

Our product appeared in the official PATS Red Book alongside new products from across the pet industry and was also presented in the New Product Showcase during the show.

For a young brand, that visibility matters. It gave more people within the pet trade an opportunity to discover PawSano, see the product in person and understand the thinking behind it.

PawSano was created around a simple idea: cat litter is an everyday product, but that does not mean it should be an afterthought. We believe practical performance, thoughtfully chosen plant-based materials and considered design can sit together in a product made for modern cat households.

Bringing that idea to PATS, and seeing PawSano represented within the New Product Showcase, was a small but meaningful milestone for us.

Beyond the show

PATS lasted only a few days, but some of its most valuable outcomes will happen afterwards.

Across the show, we met new people, reconnected with familiar faces and heard directly from businesses and professional cat owners about what matters to them. Those conversations give us useful perspective as we continue to develop PawSano, from our products and packaging to the way we work with breeders and trade partners.

There is still plenty for us to build.

But looking back at visiting PATS in 2025 and returning a year later as an exhibitor, it is worth taking a moment to recognise the progress along the way.
